Cooling tower RWE power plant, Niederaußem
mobile hanging scaffolding typ EUROPA & Motor suspension frame typ EUROPA 2000 with pressure boom system
Motor suspended scaffolds are used to renovate the outer surfaces of the 120m high cooling tower with a length of 8m and a payload of 600kg. In order to ensure that the cooling tower shell is reached, especially at the waist, 2 pcs. Pressure booms were attached to the working platform. Weights at the ends of the arms ensure the necessary pressure in the concave area. The whole construction drives with 4 pcs. rope winches up and down. The driving and safety ropes are attached to the electrically movable cooling tower superstructure.
To reinforce the concrete shell of the cooling tower in the central area, an 8-storey hanging scaffold was also installed. It consists of 8 pieces of 4m long stage segments attached to each other. The stages are connected to one another with an 18 m long ladder construction. The entire construction hangs by means of 14mm steel wire ropes on a carriage which is placed on the top of the cooling tower at a height of 120m. The trolley can be moved electrically so that the suspended scaffolding can easily be moved around the entire cooling tower. Access to the scaffold is via a motorized scaffold which moves up and down on steel cables underneath the suspended scaffold.
