Cooling tower RWE power station, Niederaussem
Mobile suspended scaffold type EUROPA & motorized suspended scaffold type EUROPA 2000 with pressure jib system
Motorized suspended scaffolding with a length of 8 m and a payload of 600 kg is used to renovate the outer surfaces of the 120 m high cooling tower. To ensure that the cooling tower shell can be reached, especially at the waist, 2 pcs. Pressure outriggers are attached to the working platform. Weights at the ends of the outriggers provide the necessary pressure in the concave area. The entire construction is assembled with 4 pcs. continuous rope winches. The travel and safety ropes are attached to the electrically movable cooling tower superstructure.
To reinforce the concrete shell of the cooling tower in the central area, an 8-storey suspended scaffold was also installed. It consists of 8 platform segments, each 4m long, attached one below the other. The platforms are connected to each other with an 18m long ladder construction. The entire construction is suspended by 14mm steel wire ropes from a carriage which is positioned on the top of the cooling tower at a height of 120m. The carriage can be moved electrically so that the suspended scaffolding can be easily moved around the entire cooling tower. Access to the scaffolding is via a motorized suspended scaffold which travels up and down on steel cables below the suspended scaffold.
